Raphael trained in Geneva's circus school « Théâtre-Cirqule » before joining the national circus school of Rosny (France), where he specialized in floor acrobatics, trampoline and single wheel. 


After graduating in 2008, he set up for a nomadic life, eager to meet different acrobatics cultures and experiment as many ways of performing as possible.

Raphael has been collaborating since 2018 as a dramaturge and assistant choreographer for the Anthrop/Melissa Ellberger company based in Geneva, and as an outside eye on various projects across Europe ( Jump Cut - Double take cinematic circus ; Fling - Cie Cristian & Gracie…)

He co-directed with Yuridia Ortega the show « A la mesa » by company Ilai in Mexico (« Merida Fest" 2021). In 2022, they founded their own company, Those who drink tea, and created the dance and circus show «Going East»

Sixty-eight countries later he has performed with 30 different companies, including an 8 months tour with Circus Monti (Switzerland, 2011), the Teatro alla Scala (Milano), Circus I Love You and the Hurjaruuth Winter circus in Finland (2023), La Putyka (Czech Republic), Collectif and Then... (UK), and made some replacements in 7 fingers' Fibonacci Project and the Barcode Circus Company.

He also collaborated with contemporary dance companies L'éolienne, Yann Lheureux (France), and Estelle Clareton (Canada).

Raphael Perrenoud - Bio

Raphael has been invited to teach acrobatic movement workshops in places such as Geneva, Antwerpen, Prague, Seattle, New Zealand, Mexico, Cambodia, and Nepal.
